Inspiral Carpets , The Hairy Dog, Derby - 24th August 2023
Brilliant gig! they certainly didn't disappoint! The support act, The Public Eye, were fantastic and being young Derby lads will now be on my follow lists! The set was great from the Carpets, pulling out old gems and of course the singalong bangers. The venue is fab if a little hot, the ceiling started to drip from the sweaty bodies beneath creating condensation but who cares when the music and vibe is so good! Hurry back to Derby Inspiral Carpets, I'll be there again! x

Over 33 years since I last saw the Inspiral Carpets perform and I must say they didn’t disappoint, they were as good as ever playing all their classics and had the packed crowd rocking till the end. Loved the intimate venue too ( The Hairy Dog Derby ) took me back to the 70’s when I frequented venues like the Grey Topper Jacksdale and the Sandpiper Club in Nottingham

Inspiral Carpets were key figures in the Madchester movement, and amongst the first to unite the disparate sounds of rock and rave.
The Oldham-based band formed in 1983, and includes members Graham Lambert (guitars), Stephen Holt (lead vocals), Clint Boon (keys, backing vocals), Kev Clark (drums) and Oscar Boon (bass).
They have released five studio albums, including Life (1990), The Beast Inside (1991), Revenge of the Goldfish (1992), Devil Hopping (1994) and Inspiral Carpets (2014).
