Who is Tom Odell?

Winner of the Brits Critics Choice Award in 2013, singer-songwriter Tom Odell channels classic Elton John through his own distinctive voice to create songs that are lyrically mature and musically uplifting.

Odell rose to prominence in 2012 after signing to In the Name Of, a label headed up by Lily Allen. His first release, the EP Songs From Another Love, was followed a year later by his début album Long Way Down - a record that helped to secure him the prestigious ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award at the 2014 Ivor Novello Awards.

As Elton John proved to great effect, piano ballads work rather well when played live and they form the backbone of Odell’s stage show. Looking like he was born to sit behind the black and white keys, he embraces his role as a performer, bringing an added depth to his songs that listening on record doesn’t quite provide. As personal as many of the lyrics appear to be, this is music that feels like it was made for the live arena.
