I've seen Elles so many times now, and it's always the same quality of performance. She's a star on the rise, and hopefully she achieves what her talent deserves. We had highest quality musicianship, great singing and fantastic songs, a bit of chat which doesn't seem contrived, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, including the band. Anyone who's been to see one of the shows can't help but enjoy it. On this occasion, the entire bill was great and fit well together. Demi Marriner deserves her own spotlight, and her part alongside Elles in the band is superb too. Ida Mae did what they did in superb fashion too. In the current climate of price hikes and Brexit restrictions on musicians (and entertainers in general) means that bands which fill 2000-3000 seaters on their own find it easier to combine with 2 or three bands of the same genre to save costs, and sell overpriced tickets for the enormodomes, the crowd is split because of they're only there for their favourites, and the whole gig-going experience is diluted because the intimacy is lost. To this end, the likes of Oran Mor, St Lukes, King Tuts, The Garage and all the other wee venues are a godsend for the gig goer, where we can get close enough, and still create a decent atmosphere for the artists. A great night had by all, and anybody who didn't have a good time, well, the problem is with them, not Elles Bailey and the band

Elles Bailey, The Fire Station, Sunderland - 14th November 2024
4th time I have seen Elles, firstly she always has great support acts eg Demi, Brave Rival and now Ida Mae. As her catalogue of songs increases there are so many great songs to choose from. The downside is she can't possibly do all the ones you want to hear!!! The other night (Sunderland) the energy and performance was electric. Thankyou Elles xx
