Great show, great venue!

I would have given this wonderful band 5 stars, but for the fact that they played for just 90 minutes, with no encore. The support acts were (mostly) good, the venue (Halifax piece Hall) amazing! Even the weather was great. Elbow are still, very much, a band well worth seeing live...They do not disappoint.

Elbow, The Piece Hall, Halifax - 30th June 2019

Elbow we're amazing.

Absolutely loved Elbow. Fantastic performance, funny and sweet chat from Guy, great audience involvement. Our only complaint was the disgraceful performance from the penultimate support band. Apparently had been to Glastonbury the day before...out of tune, rude, dismissive, lead singer could barely stand let alone sing. Said they'd donate their fee to charity...only sensible thing that came out of his mouth. However well worth the trip for Elboe and the other 3 supports were fine.

Was amazing

Absolutely amazing venue and Guy Garvey had the crowd eating out his hands, such a funny bloke.

Great concert - apart from ...

I loved Elbow (though not the support) having never seen them live before. I'll certainly try to again. The sound balance was excellent. Our evening was in danger of being spoilt by an inconsiderate group who came in well after us, stood talking loudly and not taking any interest in the concert and getting more affected by the considerable amount of alcohol they were drinking. Some people starting telling them to move so we could see and one of them in particular got upset and offensive saying others were standing - but at least they were listening to the band. They did eventually move - blocking others' views - but still didn't bother with the concert. As the concert went on more people came in around us and some were smoking continuously - which personally I find objectionable and am not prepared to be tolerant about. Why should I be inconvenienced so others can indulge their addiction? Finally, the lighting was good but it was all back lighting so the group were largely silhouettes with no spots from the front. Perhaps the lack of forward towers made that difficult but it was slightly strange. So, all the negatives were nothing to do with the band - consequently my rating is for them.
