Men at Work- Shepherds Bush Empire

Yet another brilliant performance by Colin Hay and the band. Hope it’s not another 17 years until they return

Absolutely fantastic!

Just great to have finally seen Colin/Men At Work, having loved them since 1983. A very talented band, led by a genius ☺️🎼

Men At Work - At Work

I took a day off work to go and see 'Men At Work' - at work at Manchester Academy on Thursday. It's the first time they've played in the UK since 1983 and I missed that gig! There's just one original member but it's the main man Colin Hay. They were terrific in an intimate venue on the University Student Union campus. The Lene Lovich band supported! did you know that her Lucky numbers 1? It was my first time at that venue and the sat nav took me straight there! I had a bit of difficulty finding a car park but once in the venue it was easy enough. I like merchandise but there was none, so just photos and my ticket stub for memories. The music is key at the end of the day and that was spot on!

Bloody brilliant

Took me dad. It’s the first time he has been out since a long period of illness. He used to play Business As Usual to us as kids and we all have a vinyl copy at home - it is comfortably one of my top five to listen to out of over 500. Was lovely to hear it live and the experience still left me thinking about Australia even though I was in Manchester in the presence of a great Scottish accent, and a band of South American’s. The gig was a lot of fun and was musically excellent. Got home near 1am last night and was up at 8am this morning - my dad was in the kitchen listening to ‘Be Good Jonny’. Thanks for the chance to see you perform and for cheering my dad up.

Colin Hay, lead singer/guitarist, and principal songwriter of the Grammy award winning, and multi-platinum selling band, MEN AT WORK, is excited to announce an upcoming summer tour for 2019, in seven different countries and sixteen cities across Europe. Apart from Colin’s contribution to MEN AT WORK’s success, he has released 13 solo albums, and most recently, toured as part of Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band. “It was during the Ringo tour of Europe, when confronted with the insatiable appetite for those old songs” said Hay. “I got excited about the possibility of coming back, and touring with my band.”

Colin co-founded MEN AT WORK in Melbourne back in 1979, which rose to astonishing fame in 1981, with their debut album “Business as Usual”. This album, which features the hit singles “Who Can It Be Now” and “Down Under” was a global phenomenon, and hit Billboard’s #1 spot in the US, and stayed there for an incredible 16 weeks. The album “Cargo” followed, featuring the much loved singles, “Overkill” and “It’s a Mistake”. The original band was short-lived however, which left Colin Hay and Greg Ham (saxophone/flute and keyboards), as the core members. Colin and Greg toured extensively, as MEN AT WORK, in the latter half of the 90s, and early 2000s.

Sadly, Greg Ham passed away in 2012, but his contribution to the sound and personality of MEN AT WORK, will live on forever. As will the music, which has never stopped playing on radio, and deserves to be heard live by new generations of fans, which brings us to the present.

Each venue has a limited capacity, and so as word spreads it becomes even more imperative to book your Men at Work concert tickets before they all get snatched up.
