Marcus Miller Tickets

There are few bass guitarists who can lay claim to such a diverse CV as Marcus Miller. This talented man has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz, blues and soul including Luther Vandross, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis. Miller also has an illustrious career as a solo artist and daring multi-instrumentalist, and has an extensive discography spanning more than 30 years, including 2001’s M2, for which he won Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the Grammies. No record could recreate the experience of actually seeing him live though, so fans should act quickly to grab their Marcus Miller tickets from Gigantic before it’s too late. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marcus Miller inherited his musical flair from his father, who was a choir director and organist. By the time he’d reached his teenage years, young Marcus was already proficient in playing three instruments - the piano, the clarinet, and of course, the bass guitar. Before his 15th birthday, he was already gigging regularly across the city, and quickly built up a network of artists who, once they heard what he could do, were only too happy to have him on board. It was during this time as a session musician that he further perfected his musical talents and his learned how to write and arrange songs that would set feet tapping and hearts dancing. As a bassist he has appeared on more than 500 recordings, including hits by Billy Idol, Carly Simon, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Frank Sinatra. With such talent and creativity at his fingertips, it’s hardly surprising that Miller has gone on to produce some startlingly original solo albums that showcase his extraordinary abilities as a bassist. From his 1983 debut, Suddenly, to 2015’s Afrodeezia, Miller has continued to excite and to influence the jazz world for decades.
